Fueling station is as much a part of American cuisine as a single pizza service, according to a famous cook.
In an interview with Fox News Digital, Chef Andrew Zimmern, based in Minnesota, said he has spent the best part of 25 years traveling in a van.
“I’m not sure there is someone else alive who has probably stopped as many places to eat as I have in the last decades of two and a half,” he said.
This is what Zimmern said makes him qualified to guarantee the fuel station food, which he believes is more attractive to hungry Americans than it may seem.
He has now partned with Iowa -based Casey gas stations to promote their new barbecue pizza.
“I really think what it has to do is our sense of adventure,” Zimmern said.
“We do not have to cross the ocean to a 19th-century steamer to have an adventure. We can walk in a country and try a regional food or regional treatment that happens to be for sale in that particular store and have just a warm, blurry feeling.”
The chef appreciated the new barbecue pizza razors in Casey’s, which he asked for “his real, healthy ingredients, stuff I am happy to feed my family.”
He added, “and from the way, in today’s world conscious of prices, there must be a pizza that is a whole pizza that can feed a family with four people really easily and not cost you a million dollars.”
But good fuel station food goes beyond just pizza, he said.
“When you are in Arizona and have a Burrito morning at a three -grandmother fuel station in the back rolling Chorizo house with eggs and fresh potatoes and handing you out, you are in a very, very, very special place, and you are ready to eat something really extraordinary – and they all hide in simple views.”
Zimmern also does not apologize for eating what he wants when he is on the road.
“You try to maintain your lifestyle healthy until you have a moment of deceit or a day of deceit,” he admitted.
“If I drank Slushies and I would eat pizza three meals a day, seven days a week, 365 days a year, I’m not sure it would be really great for me,” he said.
“That said, I choose not to live in a world where I should not eat pizza. I choose to live in a world where I have to eat pizza when I want, and I should have an orange slush made with my favorite Mexican soda brand.”
