A mother has clashed to order a boob cake for her son’s 3rd birthday to help her give up breastfeeding.
Genie Kaur, 39, got the icy innovation Victoria Sponge – displaying a Blu Blue Starry bikini – made for her son’s birthday party.
The mother of the two posted pictures of the dessert on Instagram and was amazed when she went viral with thousands of people sharing the images.
While many people supported her choice of cake, she says she was “shocked” from other comments accusing her of “inappropriate”.
Genie, from Barton Seagras, Northants., Protted the cake, explaining that it was thought of as a easy -hearted way to help “remove” her son.
She said: “It was to celebrate and maybe we remove it.
“I posted a photo of the cake on Instagram and Facebook and I was very shocked at the answers.
“Many people were critical, not only of the cake, but also because I was breastfeeding a three year old.”
Genie, and husband Ronni, 43, presented the Camera cake to his party on May 4.
Genie, a shelter officer, said: “It would be the last time [breastfeeding] On his birthday, as soon as he cut the cake, a kind like the last dinner.
“We explained that it was the last time, but instead of being happy, he was sad. He was very vocal saying he wanted his ‘booba’.”
Despite the social media response, Genie has decided to continue with the breast -feeding breast “until we are both ready to stop”.
She added: “Breastfeeding is working for me, so what is everyone’s problem? There is so much pressure from society to stop.
“No one has ever said” keep going “. I’m feeling I have to justify it.
“Breasts are sexualized. This is for my son’s comfort. You can make it a beautiful trip for lifting and we meet each other’s needs.
“I had intended to stop breastfeeding, but since the start of the debate on social media, I have decided to continue until we are both ready to stop.
“I have done a lot of research and breastfeeding at this age is really good for them. Why should I bow to society’s pressures?
“Baby -led food and he is not willing to give up and I don’t think I am. I never planned this. I haven’t put any pressure on myself.
“I am quite modest with him. I cover myself – and still not ‘not acceptable.”
“What is everyone’s problem with him? You’re under so much pressure from society, support is not there. People say it’s not natural – but it’s.”
The Coupleifi paid $ 120 for the dessert from The Cake Story in Kettering, Northants., And say they told other parents of other children attending the holiday for the soft model before.
Genie says her husband, a director of a distribution firm, supports her choice to breastfeed their son.
She said, “He said” if I had breasts I would do it. I’m proud of you. “He’s everything for him.”
Genie, who also has four -year -old daughter Gianna, said: “When you see her, she tries to stop her, but we say it’s good, it’s natural and normal.”
Now she has decided to use the controversy to inform other mothers about the benefits of breastfeeding their children.
She said, “I would tell all mothers, don’t give up. Don’t let people tell you what to do. If you are not ready to give up – don’t.
“I want to reach mothers and I want to be a spokesman for breastfeeding.”
The World Health Organization recommends children who breastfeed up to two years and beyond.
