A flight attendant at Alaska Airlines moved people to tears after giving an elder a cordial note on his last trip before passing.
The touching was detailed in a Reddit post that the granddaughter of the deceased wrote to the carrier.
“I just wanted to say thank you – and to let you know how small gestures it means,” she wrote.
According to the post, the 87-year-old traveler suffered from “heart failure in the late phase” and wanted to visit Alaska before passing.

While her grandfather realized that he did not have much time, the strong elder is said to tell his granddaughter that he wanted to “see the mountains once”.
Thus, determined to honor his last wish, the man who died and his successor booked a journey of Alaska Airlines from Seattle, Washington, in Junau.
Redditor wrote that the flight was “quiet” and that her grandfather spent “most of it staring at the window, holding my hand.”
Their journey took a unique turn when a perceptual companion of the flight “noticed how exciting it was.” She “asked gently if everything was okay,” making his granddaughter complement him in his last rush.
After hearing this, the conscious crew smiled, nodied and disappeared down the line, before returning with a pair of Alaska Airlines and a hand -written note.
He read, “We are honored to fly with you today. Thank you for letting us be part of your journey.”
The elderly traveler moved so much from the gesture that he kept on the whole trip.
After the adventurer “passed away peacefully” three weeks later, the family placed the marking in the pocket of the coat during the funeral.
“He failed to see everything. But he did it in Alaska,” Gushoi granddaughter. “And Alaska Airlines helped him achieve it with grace and kindness.”
Alaska Airlines’ reps told Newsweek that employees are working to confirm the Saga on the go and also identify the flight doctor who wrote the letter – which they hope to honor “service and compassion”.
“We have moved deeply to hear how this moment resonated with the family,” they said. “In Alaska, we are very proud of our flight companions and all the employees who lead with heart and empathy.”
The air carrier added, “while we cannot speak of this individual moment without further verification, we can say that the recognition of acts of kindness is essential to our inner culture.”
The post also pulled out the waters across the Reddit.
