Social media is a pointed wrapping

Impacts Sam Guggenheimer, who boasts hundreds of thousands of followers online, is calling on people to protect their well -being by not comparing their lives with the “pronounced wrappings” we see on social media.

The 23-year-old has been opened for the mental health wars she has experienced since her early teens as part of New Corp Australia can we talk? Campaign, in partnership with Medibank.

“From depression to anxiety and overcoming an aggressive eating disorder, the challenges of mental health have been a constant part of my journey,” Guggenheimer said.

“They have formed me in the person I am today.

“Although some of the darkest days felt endless, there was always a part of me who knew there was light at the end of the tunnel.”

In a job without certain hours, the well -known podcaster with more than 349,000 followers in Tiktok said her mental levels can appear as fatigue, where even simple tasks felt drained and predominant.

“During these times, I try to focus, feel unmotivated and notice a real decline in my creativity,” she said.

Guggenheimer, who is centered on Melbourne, said she could lose interest in usually joyful activities and sometimes felt “stuck, simply going through the move without real purpose”.

But she has been honest with her followers for her wars – something she has found “too powerful”.

“This not only helps me feel less alone, but it also assures other girls the assurance that life is not perfect and polished all the time – and that’s okay,” she said.

Guggenheimer said she had worked “really hard” to improve her mental health, and found that she had a strong routine was “essential” to maintain a sustainable mentality.

“I have fallen in love with the gym and working out, and being physically active every day has transformed my self -esteem and my confidence in my ability to overcome challenges,” she explained.

Guggenheimer said with so many access to “people’s curated lives” of people, it was easy to fall into the comparison trap.

“This often leads to feelings of isolation and makes it more difficult to form real, meaningful connections that can get a number of self -esteem,” she said.

Guggenheimer said she resonated deeply with “Can we talk?” Message because it encouraged difficult, honest conversations.

“Being vulnerable, whether online or in real life, can feel scary, but it also creates real connection and understanding,” she said.

“He reminds everyone that nobody’s life is perfect – and having these conversations can really save lives.”

Her advice to others fighting was “to be good with yourself”.

“We are often our worst critics and we can be too tough on ourselves – in ways we would never treat another person,” she said.

“Don’t beat yourself for mistakes or imperfections; show yourself the same care and compassion you will offer to someone you love.”

She encouraged people to build positive and sustainable habits for their well -being.

“Whether it is being enrolled for a new gym program, going for a walk to your local cafe every morning, or setting aside the time for the activities you love – physical movement … releases endorphins and increases your natural condition,” she said.

“Finally, rely on the people around you.”

“Build and nourish your real -life relationships.”

“Remember: what you see online is often just a pointed wrapping.”
